I dont mean movies that you thought are good. I mean the great ones. The last movie I saw that I can call great is the Shawshank Redemption. I would say Saving Private Ryan but I thought it very longwinded and boring in some spots. Just curious.

I saw Platoon on DVD last nite...its been a while since I saw it but i'd rank it up there as one of the "great" movies ive ever watched.
Before that, I saw FAILAN... a korean movie which stars the hk actress Cecilia Cheung....man...if there ever was a mans movie...this is it. SAD stuff but it aint for the melodramatic chicks!

<< home--Donnie Darko >>

from IMDB

p.s. Film Fact. At the films first public showing of the film at the Sundance Film Festival, one of the reels was thread backwards and upside down. The caused a 1 hour delay in the middle of the film. During this time the director answered questions and Stuart Stone rapped and danced to an audience provided beat box.

I gotta see this flick now.

I'm sorry but I loved Office Space, I laughed so hard I almost cried and each time I watch it again I see something I missed. Comedy works for me :)

truly great eh? hmm that eliminates a lot of good movies such as LOTR, Black Hawk Down, etc... I think the last truly great movie I saw was: LA Confidential

The Matrix is close, however it falls into the "good" category.

Casablanca. Believe it or not, I never really have seen too many of the old classics. So i started checking a few of them out every once and then. Casablanca was smooth! The lines were classic, just goes to show how much of that acting has disappeared nowadays. I think special effects have taken their toll on actual scripting. If you haven't seen it, check it out.:)

while I enjoyed The Last Castle, I find that statement laughable.

I havent seen a truly great movie in a loooooooong time. The closest to a truly great movie Ive seen recently is Sexy Beast. Ben Kingsley is AMAZING!
