Well, Ferrari said the California is last model that will be offered with a manual. So the California then.
i haven't yet driven a proper semi-automatic. i've driven a lexus is-something, and like all of the breed, it was a total joke.
Yeah, the mess that passes for a shifter in cars these days is a joke. I'll be the first to condemn the flappy paddle gearbox in the Lexus IS. I own one, and it is a completely useless gimmick. My wife never uses it. I've used it a few times but it is worse than just leaving it in automatic mode IMO. That sucks too because the car actually has a decent chassis and brakes and with the 3.5l engine it has plenty of power too but it is completely let down by the electronics and that automatic transmission.

Hold on....you're comparing the paddle shifting in your Lexus to a Ferrari?
Dude, Ferrari's have F1 gearboxes, that's why they are paddle shifts.
Lexuses have a regular automatic transmission and stupid little gimmicky shifters on the steering wheels to give 16 year olds hard ons. You may as well have a regular automatic and go from L to 2 to D. They actually request a gear shift through the car's computer, not the same thing at all.
Hope you didn't cry too much about the new Ferraris...
About 70% of the F360 sold were F1 transmission. About 99% of the F430 sold were F1 transmission. F1 was an option and added about $10,000 to the purchase price. Blame Ferrari for pushing the technology the last 15 years and the buyers for wanting to pay extra for the F1 trans. If majority of the F360 and 430 buyers had opted for the cheaper standard manual transmission, I'm sure Ferrari would still be offering it. Real buyers voted with their wallet.
And that's just sad IMO...
a proper semi-automatic transmission is a sequential 6 or 7 speed box with clutchless shifting, and i would be all over it. what is available on cars under $100,000 is an automatic transmission equipped with up and down buttons, and it sucks.
