What was the hardest class you ever took in College?

Pepsei

Lifer
1) You know it is hard and it was hard
2) You thought you'd sail through with an A so you took it.

----

1) Organic Chem. I knew it was hard, and I managed to pass with D.
2) With my "VAST" knowledge of RPG's I thought Greek Mythology would be so easy. So I took that 300 level (usually for Jr and Sr) class. It was a big mistake, the thick book is filled with minor gods and heroes that I've never heard of. Time to move to monotheism.

Calc II. Just b/c it was the weed out course at our school
or
Electromagnetic Theory, just cuz that stuff is hard 🙂

Still a freshman, but I'll answer.

1) Freshman writing seminar. It's required, and I suck at writing.
2) None yet

1) Operating Systems
2) Asian American Studies. It's apparent that I know nothing about my own culture, because I got a C in there 🙁

1) Organic series... I had to drop it once. Ended up passing with C's
2) Genetics. I kicked ass in the Bio series so I thought it would be easy.

i dont know why people think Organic Chem is hard... it absolutely has no math.. just pure memorization of concept, structure, and mechanisms...
hardest class for me was Physical Chemistry... it's like physics times chemistry...

1) Geography 419 - Natural Hazards and Disaster Planning: Lots of fun but very difficult. I ended with a B
2) Geography 122 - First time professor who really was not in his groove yet, making it difficult. I ended up with a B, but so did everyone in the class.

because there is 9.3x10^8 metric fvcktons of stuff to memorize, and because they haven't taken Pchem

for me
1) thermodynamics...wtf
2) organic chem 2...lot more complicated stuff to remember than 1

reason 1, my gf (now my wife) was in the same class with me, and instead of learning chair and table (?) formation of cyclohexane (?), i couldn't keep my paws off of her.
reason 2, our professor wasn't that good.

design 105 first design course (weed out) man it was tough. On my final project i must have spent 100hrs. in 7 days, yes that means that i just went to class and went back to work on project, must have slept 10hrs. during that week. worst week for sleep EVER. last 4 days i did not sleep.

what did you design?

1. American literature. I had medical problems that semester that didn't help, but it really was the most difficult class I took in college.
2. Discrete Math or Advanced Stats. I'm good with math and never had to put any effort into math classes in the past, so I thought I should do the same. In both classes I got a rude awakening, but when I started putting an effort into it I ended up with an A in both.

1. Music 208, core seminar in music critical studies. 2500+ pages of reading just for discussion, plus whatever is required for the paper - I'm past 500 so far.
2. Music 270B, musical cognitive science. We spent the last 8 weeks learning about nothing but gestalt theory and principles of pitch and timbre detection. Now we're expected to write a publishable paper based on this stuff (which has been researched to death already).

1) Intro to Quantum Information Processing
Thought it'd be fun...

2) Intro to Diff. Eq.
Told it was easy.. so I took it.. wasn't as easy as I thought it would be

Bah, stats isn't proper maths.
