Damn, that's a close call. IIRC Electric Ladyland was the first album to incorporate some really new & powerful amps etc., resulting in the unique sound only he ever had.

I've read some sound engineers from the company that was making his stuff (forgot the name of the company  ) went back and tried to reproduce the equipment.

They failed. They concluded Jimmie did some "after market" voodoo to the stuff and they couldn't figure out what the heck it was and gave up.

EDIT: I'd have to say my favorite song is "Red House". But there's more than 1 version. To me one is clearly superior. But I don't know to differentiate between them. Like recording date or something

Are you eeexxxperienced?

EDIT: My favorite song on the album would probably be Highway Chile - such a sweet song.

Yup, yup. Only problem is that in Hey Joe the (feminine) background singers are a little too 'apparent'. Did anyone else notice this?

Are You Experienced has Purple Haze and Foxy Lady.

Electric Ladyland has All Aong the Watchtower, Voodoo Chile and an awesome album cover.

They're both great albums.

Electric Ladyland listened to in the right frame of mind -hehe, was a masterpiece. Quite possibly his best ever guitar work and the album overall felt like the sum was greater than the parts. The songs flowed together and seemed far more than just a collection of songs.

First Rays Of The New Rising Sun is a rip-off of Rainbow Bridge (1971). A soundtarck album which contains the better versions of most of those songs. It is out of print because of legal shenanegans between the Hendrix estate and WB. Although the purists say it's a commercial rip-off it does preceed New Rising Sun ('97) by 26 years and is a must for any collector.
(Don't bother seeing the movie .......that is a commercial venture and a rip-off with nothing from the album being played)
Hey Baby from Rainbow Bridge is ..... well .... HENDRIX !

You forgot, "One Rainy Wish"...but yeah, I think I agree with you about Axis.

AYE has all of the popularity, but man...Axis seems so refined..seems like Jimi had grown a lot as an artist when compared with AYE. And you know how they say the 2nd album is a tough one to pull off...he did that and more.

For me it is

1 - Axis
2 - Electric Ladyland
3 - AYE.
