MasterCard launched its "Priceless" advertising campaign in October, 1997. In the MasterCard ads, families gather together in separate episodes to enjoy sentimental pastimes like a day at the beach while an announcer assigning monetary values to various activities before coming up with an activity that is "Priceless." For instance, one ad features a young family at a baseball game and indicates the price of the tickets, hotdogs, and foam #1 hand. And the price of your kid's first major league game? "Priceless." The ads all conclude: "There are some things in life money can't buy. For everything else, there's MasterCard."

I guess it was a collection of those "family gathering" ones. Not one single ad was the forerunner.
