What was the first jarring in-game experience with DLC that you can remember?

I was thinking about this the other day, and I think mine was Dragon Age:Origins.

The opening sequence (that even allowed you to seduce and sleep with another person), capped by the cinematic battle and it's emotional conclusion, was compelling, and I was pretty immersed in the game after that.

And then I talked to a character and he attempted to direct me to a fricking website to buy something (I don't remember the specifics, it's been a while). That was lame and limp.

Was that the first example of that, or were there earlier ones? DA:O was 2009.
