What was the best present you ever got for christmas?

An NES that came with Super Mario Brothers and Duckhunt on the same cartrige, the gun for Duckhunt, and two NES controllers. Man, Nintendo sure knew how to offer package deals back then. Sigh, how times have changed.

But really, that was ages ago, and I can still remember getting it! I was so happy!

Gotta think way back to childhood...

Well, toss-up between the "car" Voltron (Christmas '84 or '85?), and Sega Genesis (slightly pre-Christmas '91).

The Genesis, since sold, was, and remains my only other experience with owning a console aside from my treasured 2600. Nonetheless, the system left me with many good memories, and Sonic was just an unbelievable audio/visual experience for a console-deprived soul like me---quite an improvement in all aspects over playing SMB 2 at a friends place three years prior. And for some reason, a listen to "I Love Your Smile" rekindles all those fond memories.

Let's see.. back when I was about 5 or so, I got a Snoopy snow cone maker...oh my god was I excited to get that

Of course, NES, a few years later..

and then recently, last Christmas, my bf and I had been going out just a month and he bought me this beautiful framed print of Starry Night by Van Gogh...my favorite painting (yes, it's cliche ). But it really showed that he was thinking about me and listening to what I said, even after just a month.
