I wasn't into overclocking when the orriginal Nforce motherboards made thier appearance a few years back and was wondering what brand/model was the king.

I'm currious now because I want to own one while the few left are in working order.

This makes just as little sense as your sigline, frankly.
None of them had half the option you get on any board nowadays, most often you had to mod them to get higher voltage etc so apart from sweating over an outdated, out-of-warranty board to get 1/10th of today's performance makes fairly little sense to me...

Anyway here is my take: Abit NV7-133R, Asus A7N266, both needed mods if I remember correctly.

PS: nforce really became big with nf2, the first incarnation was riddled by buggy drivers, everyboard required at least 2-3 BIOS updates until it became stable etc. NF2 was a much more successful platform. that's what really earned a solid name for NV in the chipset business.

I own an older A7N266, and I can testify that the generation of board wasn't really designed to be an overlocker. While I'm not at home right now and can't say with 100% certainty, I'm pretty sure it has absolutely 0 voltage options, poor stability, and tons of quirks.

I also own an A7N8X-E Deluxe, of the NF2 variant, and can attest to it's superiority in every single way. Until I fried my PCI slots and had to RMA it, it was a perfect board. Once it came back from RMA, it still worked like a charm, getting my 1333Tbird over 1600 without breaking a sweat.

Abit NF7-S version 2 not NF7-S2 or something like that. they are different boards.

Epox 8RDA+ is another excellent nForce2 board.

Wow, I don't remember asking if investing in one is a good idea. I'm "going" to buy one whether you guys like it or not. And I'm "going" to overclock with it to the best of my ability.

Plain and simple, I already made up my mind so no more posts about if it's a good idea or not, I don't tell you what to do with you r money so don't tell me what to do with mine :D K ?

I just want to know what the best original Nforce board was, simple as that. IF you wanna crap on someones thread then make one yourself and crap away on your own thread. Meanwhile if you aren't chiming in about something pretinent to my OP then keep it to yourself :)

Btw, this is me getting sick and fn tired of you jerkoffs wanting to make a fn arguement out of nothing. When someone posts a thread either read the OP and reply only with info pertaining to it and keep your other brain farts to yourself, or don't post at all.

Can we close this retarded topic? It's obvious it's been opened by a redneck who could not even say 'thanks' after received the info he requested so let's close it, let him go back to buy his nf1 board and keep herding his goats, shall we?
