What was that old Apple ii game where you type and escape a mansion?

It starts out with you in this basement, and you work your way through many rooms, it was in color, and some rooms would lead you back to where you started. It was puzzle like. There was nothing that you encountered and no music.

The game's ending was you basically escaping and the "mansion" was really a huge castle.

Man I was like maybe 6-7 years old when I played it and from what I asked my friends that remembered playing this game it was in elementary schools.

Anybody know this game I'm talking about?

No you didnt see anybody in it. It was almost like a precursor to Myst. You just did text based commands trying to get around this house. There were hidden passages that you had to type and find. I can't even find anything on youtube let alone google about this game.

Getting similar, but you are inside this house the whole time. As you go up the floors you eventually realize you are in some sort of tower. It's a wierd game. I think there are like 3 eventual paths: one resets you to the beginning in the cellar/basement, one where you leave the place, and the other where you are trapped forever.

Sounds kind of like Alone in the Dark but that had monsters/demons.
