see summary... I remember reading about a dvd player that was capable of playing most video formats (mpeg, divx, xvid) straight off of a burned cd or dvd, with no conversion necessary. anyone know what it was?

I thought it was a Phillips, but I can't remember the model #
 
yeah, the philips 642, there's a few other players that do divx these days also. dunno how good they are though.
