The advertised a GF4 Ti4600 at like $120-130 or something like that. Needless to say they cancelled n all of the people that tried to take advantage of it.

Exactly. They advertized $129 preorder, a savings of $200 right on there site. Then they canceled all the orders, and claimed pricing error. Personally, it sounds like they were doing the $129 to get people in, but I knew they were not going to ship them, so did not bother trying to get one. It was very obvious. It seems like it wasn't a pricing error, but they probably underestimated the amount of people that would jump, so they closed it down. ( 129+200 = 329. Still cheaper than I would think, but not unreasonable. )

AS for if it was a pourposeful misprint, ya got me. The big hub-ub was because the threads in Hot deals were REMOVED instead of locked, so a lot of people think Anand caved in to Best Buy ( an advertizer here ) I personally don't know if that is 100% true, and neither do I care.

Ahhh... no big deal. It was only a pre-order situation. However, had it been a price error in the weekly ad AND it's already on the shelves, that's a different matter. Pre-order don't mean sh*t.

If BestBuy wanted to do a little test to see how fast word can spread from a site like Anandtech, this would certainly be the way to do it. I'm not saying Anand would knowingly participate in something like that, but it looks bad that all related posts are now being deleted.

Actually, the price is $399. It was a pricing error, nothing more.

Sorry, but you are wrong.

What is there to explain? They had a price error. Very simple. Everyone (including myself) who ordered the card KNEW it was a price error and also knew they had a very slim chance of getting the card for that ridiculous price. They state very clearly on the site that they are not responsible for price errors, misprints, etc.

To quote the AT mod on the hot deals forum:

<< It was a price mistake, so deal with it in a mature manner please >>

And the notion that BB gives a rat's patoot about AT to purposefully pay for a misprint is ridiculous.
