He was death. Came to get Anthony Hopkins, saw Tony's daughter, fell in love, decided to postpone taking Tony. Eventually leaves.

The only point of watching that movie was watching the absolutely hilarious death scene at the beginning of the movie. Brad Pitt getting creamed by that bus was one of the funniest things I've ever seen. He bounced around like a kid with ADD in a moon-bounce. I laughed for about 10 minutes and repeated the same scene about 10 times when we rented the DVD.

Unfortunately, my GF at the time saw it a different way and I didn't get any that night :(

Ripoff of 'Death takes a Holiday' a early and some would say better movie.

Decades before Brad Pitt starred in Meet Joe Black, the story of a vacationing Grim Reaper was adapted for the screen from a popular play. Frederick March, playing Death, disguises himself as a European prince and spends three days with an amenable duke at his palatial estate. Women are instantly attracted to the Lord of the Underworld, but back off when they sense his true nature--that is, all women except for the beautiful young innocent (Evelyn Venable), who is destined to marry the duke's son.

I'm fairly sure the movie was a bet someone in Hollywood made with another mega rich asshat that they could make the most boring 3 hour long movie with Brad Pitt in it & make men all over the world watch it & lie to their GF/wives & say that they liked it.

(I've had to see it 2X)

I thought it was a pretty cool movie. Never seen that other one though... I'll check that out sometime, better not be some black and white movie or something though.
