What voltages should I be running at? -AMD rig.

As a general rule what voltages should i be using at these speeds for optimum stability? See sig for rig.

10*200 (2000Mhz) = ?v

11*200 (2200Mhz) = ?v

12*200 (2400Mhz) = ?v

Obviously it may be slightly fifferent for everyone, but I presume there's a sort of standard voltage for each setting to remain stable. I've got a similar set-up to most people here anyway (1800+ DLT3C and NF7-S) so any advice is appreciated.

I'm currently running 11*200 @ 1.6v (43C Idle 49C load) and after playing Jedi Knight II for a while it crashed to desktop and the screen colours went sort of strange, bright Cyan etc. Should i be upping the voltages? What voltage will i roughly need for 12*200?

Thanks in advance! :D:beer:

Depends on the processor... some are capable of 2.2 Ghz on default voltage... some need to have 1.850 volts to get to 2.2

ive got 1.7 on my 1700+ and have taken it to 11x190 and 10.5x195

just under 2.1ghz...mmmm

Well Jeff if you look at my sig mine is a JUIHB DLT3C which runs at a native 1.5v and I gave the info of what voltage im currently using in my first post. While there will be some differences between different DLT3C chips from what i've seen they should perform more or less the same at given voltages. I'm just interested in people with experience with these type of chips and the voltages they've used for certain speeds. :)

Hmm that might be one of the cases of the Mobile XP CPU getting rebadged as a desktop chip, you lucky sod! :D:beer:

Do 1.7Vcore and 2.8Vdimm...

If you get crashing bump that t. 1.75 but i would stick to that... I am hitting 2.4 on that voltage.

it does have a strange code the "v" is what i never heard of but oh well. I think i had it at defalut and had vcore at lowest and thats like 1.4 and it ran fine or it was defaulted @ 1.4 cant rember anymore.

that's not a mobile chip... V , W , M , X are all common letters...

something is just fishy with your board IMHO...

back to RD's question

i think that to do 2.4 ghz you'll need anywhere from 1.65 to 1.85 volts... it's a wide range i know but people's results vary like crazy...

some nice chips will do 2.4 at lower voltages... i had one that did 2.4 at 1.8volts (1.73 actual) on my abit nf7-s

My 1700+ has been dialed in at 200x12 for months, rock stable on an nf7-s. 1.775v in bios, 1.72 actual. Temp 36c idle, 42c under load for 1hr.

With almost a free 1ghz oc, I didn't see much need to tweak beyond that.

OK at 12*200 she refuses to post with 1.75v running through her, does this mean i've hit the physical limit of the chip or do i simpy need to up the juice? I'm running stable at the moment on 11*200 @ 1.6v. The thing is until i get a beefier fan i'm loathe to up the voltage much more y'see...

Sig system (DLT3C JIUHB) is running 222 X11 @ 1.8Vcore.
Notes show:
200 X 11 @ 1.55V.
210 X 11 @ 1.625V.
215 X 11 @ 1.7V.
215 X 11.5 @ 1.825V.
All tested Prime95-stable.

Hope this helps!

I have my 1.85 Ghz barton up to 2.2 Ghz with stock voltage. So anywhere between 1.65 - 1.85 being the highest.

Basically, throw it up to about 2v tops, as long as your cooling is OK, keep your full load temps below about 55c and you'll be fine.

I had an 1800+ that was ticking along at 1.9v for months, no problems.

Yeah, honestly at the prices of tbreds now, if you want to push it up to about 2v or so it might bite the dust in a few months or might not. You are going to shorten its life at that voltage, but you could still get a lot of enjoyment out of it and if it lasts 4-5 months and dies, throw down $50 and start over... (or whatever price they are down to then.)
