What voltage are you running your cc0 celeron at?

Hi,

Just installed my cc0 600 celeron. Running 1.95v@900 using a OEM adapter.
I was wondering how much more I can crank the voltage up before thinks start to blow up? :)
also what sort of temps are acceptable? I am only using the standard HSF at the moment.

Thanks

Is 1.95 the lowest voltage that will allow your system to run at the overclocked speed?

Usually it's best to keep the voltage to the lowest that still allows stability.

Raising the voltage higher will not make your system faster - only raise the voltage if necessary to get the system to run at the new overclocked speed.

The retail HSF is marginal for the voltage/speed you are now using. If you still run at 1.7 or 1.75 volts, keep it there. If the higher voltage is needed, plan on improving your cooling to keep the CPU cooler - This helps extend the life of your CPU and will help stability greatly.

Khabel:

I'm running a Cco Celeron 600@900 with 1.7v. This is the standard voltage specified on the chip. This is with an Abit Slotket III and Gigabyte 686BX motherboard. Test your cpu to see if it will work at lower voltages (just for kicks). My fsb is set at 100mhz, cpu has been fine with both stock cooling and Globalwin FKP-32. Chip is of the SL4NX variety, I believe it is one of the early Cco chips. Stability is perfect and sure blew away the former PII 350...:D

how the heck can u tell if it's CCO? and are those special over other celerons?

my cel633 is running solid at 1.75 V (1.65V is default). it says sl3w9 and fpo/batch# is q040a320 version#: a09474-001

cC0 celerons suck for me today. I have a few that will not do the dance.

SL4NZ Retail boxed 667 1.7v default Week 38 Malay (1 dud)
SL4NY Retail boxed 633 1.7v default Week 39 Malay (4 duds)

Just so everyone knows, they came from Googlegear. Probably best to avoid their stock for a week or so.

Thanks for the replys guys. I need 1.95 volts to be to run at 900 anything less and it is a no go :(
I am wanting to hit a gig if I can that is why I am wanting to know if it is safe to take the voltage up any higher. Haven't done any serious testing yet but will do soon to see how stable it is at 900 and what sort of temps it reaches.

Any recommendations on a cheap HSF? I was thinking a orb maybe?

Thanks

hey compuwiz.....will 2.0v hurt a celeron fcpga 600 if it is lefton for just a few seconds? I stuck mine in a Abit BM6 mb, expecting it to auto detect processor and voltage but it didn't (the BM6 doesn't support the cco stepping) it was defaulted to the 2.0 v that my 366 was using. It got pretty warm (to the touch) but was only on that voltage for 10 seconds are so. I don't have a board I can test it on right now so was wondering if it could have fried it.
Thanks for any info.

I wouldn't go 2v! On the cC0 core, the highest I would take it is 1.9

I just bought a celeron 667 and I'm running it on a BX6 rev1. I can't take it to 1ghz, it locks up when its posting. The max voltage this mb will let me put in is 1.85v, anyone know a way around this? I have the Abit SlotKit III and I can select voltage on it, but does it override what the motherboard is set to?

I have the chip running at 833 fine (10x83) with no problems though.

One more thing - I have old pc66 ram, but my old celeron 266 ran @ 100mhz fsb with it no problem - would it make a difference now?

Thanks!
