I have a bandwidth meter on our network. One laptop that normally gets about 1G of data a day, suddenly started to receive as much as 1300G per day. One these same days it sent around 60G of data.

I ran SuperAnti Spyware and now it seems to be ok.

Any idea why a machine would get so much data in a day, but it wouldn't actually save it? Drive is only only 250g

What also is it doing sending some smaller amount of data back out? 60G that same day is odd.

intrigued...

If the computer was part of a botnet and carrying out DDOS attacks, then it would be uploading page requests to the server under attack, and downloading the (presumably much larger) web page. Right? Or am I talking out of my ass here?
