What video cards can run at 89mhz AGP speed?

Here's the deal, I want to upgrade my system but until I get a job I'm trying to squeeze every last ounce of power from the old girl. Now I've got a p3-600e that runs windows just fine when overclocked to 800mhz, but it crashes when I play games or run 3dmark2001. I haven't done EXTENSIVE testing, but it's my suspicion that my video card just can't handle the overclocked bus. I've got an Elsa Geforce 2mx and I've been really eyeing up the GTS-V card because it's so cheap. Can this card handle the overclocked bus or should I get a different card?

If the GTS-V will work, would it give me a decent boost in games or should I get a faster card (maybe a geforce 2 pro/TI or maybe a Geforce 3 ti200....remember I'm on a budget)? I plan on buying Dungeon Seige 'cause I loved the demo, but it runs choppy on my system now.

Any advice guys?

Most video cards can handle 89 MHz just fine, especially nVidia cards. So if you're system's crashing it's probably because of something else (too much heat, not a high enough vcore, or it simply can't do it).

I've tried bumping up the core voltage and that didn't help, and I doubt there's much heat in my system but I guess I can try running it with the case open and a couple more fans to see if that helps. I always assumed it was my video card since it always crashes a few minutes after I start 3dmark 2001.

I know that it can't be any other components that are causing me problems since my pci bus is running within spec and my memory is pc133.

Hey man, I'm in the same boat as you...well not exactly. I however do have a Abit BF6 mobo and a PIII 600E@800 and yes the AGP is running at 89MHz. I have a Voodoo3 2000 in it now and I really can't play any games on that machine. I'm going to upgrade the Voodoo to a GF3 TI200. A GF4 is overkill for the processor and anything under a GF3 just sucks for newer games. So the GF3 TI200 gives me a nice balance for this machine. The GF3 TI200 are pretty cheap right now running at about $125. This may be a little much for you now but you'll get A LOT more out of it than a GTS or GF2.

Oh, and try bumping up the core voltage by a 1/2 a volt. That should stablize your system. ;)

I already tried bumping up the core voltage from 1.65 to 1.70 and it didn't help. I have just drilled some fresh holes in the front of my case so I'm going to mount a second fan there and I'll try bumping up the voltage again to see if that helps. The truth is that I have to money right now to buy a geforce 4, but since I don't know how long I'm going to be out of a job I'm trying keep all purchases to a minimum. If, however, the Geforce 3 Ti200 drops under a hundred dollars then maybe I could justify its purchase.

If anyone is still reading this and is interested here are the rest of my system specs:

Abit BX6 rev.2 (QR bios)
512mb PC133 sdram
P3 600E socket 370 on a converter card
Maxtor D740X, Western Digital 40 gb 7200 rpm
Asus 52x cd-rom
Acer 12x cdrw
Vortex 2 superquad
kingston kne120tx

Another thing to look out for is the quality of your slot 1 to socket 370 converter card. I have have had good luck with ASUS, and ABIT slot converters. You might be able to find a used ASUS P3V4x motherboard it was a great overclocker, and with it's VIA chipset it keeps the PCI and AGP slots in spec as you overclock.
