Unless yu are willing to mod the PCB of the X800Pro and OC the crap out of it, I highly suggest an X800XL. 16 pipes vs 12 pipes = good

Have you entertained the idea of waiting until Nvidia releases its new mid-range cards (7 series) and ATI releases their line of cards. I would hold off for that.

isn't tigerdirect selling an ati x800xl for 229.00

yeah the 16 pipes (xl) vs 12 pipes (pro)

you would have to unlock the card (only possible on vivo models, not sure if it can be done on pci-e) + overclock to match the xl

*waits 5 years*

I just got a Sapphire x800xl - just wondering - why no anti-static bag? I thought these things were
sensitive. Just came in the cardboard box.

It's the retail version. The card was inside clear plastic, inside a cardboard box, inside another cardboard box.

Get a 6800gt, its about the same price, performs just as good as anything in that range, and has shader model 3. If you plan on keeping this card for more than a year, yes you'll want SM3.

Just my opinion, so dont flame me for it.

a while ago zipzoomfly was selling x800xt's for 219 and x800xtpe's for like 250. i think they are out of stock now. i recommend the x800xl for sure.

yeah, the card will work with that mobo as long as it is pci-express
