okay, so i decided to upgrade from my 9800pro... now the question is what to upgrade to. I'd like a 6800 or comparable for less than $250 (which is about low average at the moment...) anybody have any suggestions?

6600GT AGP is the obvious/default answer. What CPU do have? If you're still on AMD XP or Intel 2.xghz you may want to rethink your strategy...

i'm running an amd 3500+ newcastle socket 939. i've got a gig of corsair valueselect RAM... on an MSI neo2 platinum mobo.

I wouldn't upgrade from a 9800pro to a 6600gt. Ok... I lied... I did... but only because my new A64 chipset wasn't getting along with it anymore and I needed a different card but one that supported component out.

The 6600gt is certainly a faster card, but it's not worth an upgrade in my opinion.

I think a 6800 would be a good idea.

If you can find an X800XL in your budget, that would be a great card. It seems like you're going to need an AGP card though, and AGP X800XLs tend to be more expensive. The 6800 series seems like the better deal in AGP.

yea... i dunno why people are recommending 6600gt.. it's definately faster; yet, the difference is not worth the money...
try at least x800xl.....

6800 vanilla. Then get the tool and enable the 4 disabled pipelines and now ur almost running a 6800 GT for only $200-250 range 🙂. Note: this trick only works on the AGP version of this vid card (not PCI-e).
