resolution at the moment is 1024x768 on an old 17" lcd. Looking to spend 75-100 US. No brand preference. Aiming for it to play BF:BC2. I understand at my budget and with the CPU I have I will be playing at lowered detail.

even a gt240 would be okay at 1024x768. I would probably get a 5570 or 5670 if you can find one pretty cheap. a 5750 or gts450 would only make sense if you could get an insane deal on one.

Just grab a 5670 for 75 bucks.

There is a nice sapphire one on newegg with a dual fan design.

for his situation, the 5670 makes more sense for 25-30 bucks cheaper and easily fits into his budget. in Bad Company 2 at 1024x768 he will see zero playable difference between the two with his cpu.

The CPU also has a potential to become popular among computer enthusiasts due to its unlocking potential. Early reports indicate that at least some 210e microprocessors are based on Propus core, and have two cores locked.

The unlocked processor has four operational cores, but no L3 cache, and is identified by BIOS as "AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 910e Processor".

I recammend if your motherboard has it, you try unlocking the extra 2 hidden/locked "cores" your CPU might have, and cashe.

so: ACC, core unlock switch, whatever's supported on your motherboard.
See if you got lucky and can unlock cashe/extra cores.

As other posters have said your GPU might be held back abit by your CPU, unlocking extra cores/shaders could go a far way to improveing that. That said, even if you cant, atleast overclock the hell out of it.

Get a LCD with a better resolution. Most modern gpus are a overkill at that resolution

Not a huge priority atm computer is just a spare for guests. I'll pick up a cheap 19 or 20 inch down the road though.

Tried unlocking it without any success and I mean I really tried everything I could.
