Hey guys,

Kind of itching to upgrade my PC. I'm pretty sure a new video card would give a good boost. I play Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2 mainly.

Here is my PC.

i7 930

6 gigs ram

GTX 460 1 gig video card.

I thought SC was more CPU bound than GPU?

Have you overclocked the CPU and GPU?

I also have a 460 1gb and am waiting till the next gen or till the 7850 or higher drops in price more. I have overclocked it to 560 speeds to hold me.

my CPU is at 2968 so I guess it's a little over clocked. GPU is overclocked a little too but won't go much higher because it's a shitty card that becomes unstable.

I'm looking to spend $ 300 max. I guess I can wait for prices to fall...

Diablo 2 and SC2?

Pretty pointless imo. I went from a GTX 460 to a 7870 both OC'ed and real world @ 1920x1200 it didn't do dick.

Those games are too primitive imo.

SC2 seems to like Nvidia cards more.
Xbit stopped testing it lately, but older reviews show data.
Maybe with the new expansion pack, review sites will bench it.

^ I noticed that as well, way before when SC2 first came out, the nvidia cards always were faster. I think Blizzard and nvidia have a pact!
