What video card to get for a high res display?

I'm looking to build a new system and wondering what video card to buy. I have a 1080p lcd tv so I need dual GPU solution to run at high res. I'm mainly thinking about the 7950gx2, but I recently came across the toms hardware video card charts where it shows the 7900gt 256mb in SLI beating the gx2 in most things, and I've found that for a little less than a gx2. I am also looking for some benchmarks of the x1900gt and the new X1900 256mb that is supose to be under $300 (talk about name confusion) in crossfire mode. I think $600 is the limit of what I'm willing to spend on grafix, and would like to find the best solution for that price. These are the options I've come up with so far. Any opinions or help is appreciated.
