My system is in my sig. My Geforce 2 GTS is not cuttin it anymore.
I was interested in the Albatron 4200 p-turbo, but lately people have not had great oc results with those cards.
I am willing to pay up to $180, so maybe a geforce 4400 is the way to go. So, what card should i get, and where can i get it for a good price?
What overclocks are you people getting with your cards. Seems like a lot of people are gettin an oc of around 300/600 for their 4200's. What card, and what kind of oc should i expect? thanks!

I recommend the Leadtek GeForce4 Ti 4200 Graphics Card available at NewEgg. It can be overclocked quite easily, using a free program called PowerStrip, to GeForce4 Ti 4600 speed. Cheers!

i want to get a 128mb card for sure, becuase i plan on keeping this card for over a year, and 64mb is not gonna be enough for games that will be coming out.

If you can hold off wait for NV 30 and buy a radeon 9700 at great prices. If you have to buy it immediatlely i have a few suggestions-

If you can spend 100 get- Geforce 3 ti 500 @ frys electronics
If you can spend 150 get- Geforce 4 ti 4200 @ newegg
If you can spend 200 get- Geforce 4 ti 4600/4400 @ um newegg? lol
If you can spend 300 get- Radeon 9700

PS: All of these cards are ass kickers. U'll notice a gigantic increase over your geforce 2 even if you get the geforce 3 ti 500.

Leadek and gainward 4200's look the best and are not too expensive on newegg. A lot of people had problems with the gainward, but they rma'ed them and got better versions. Anyone with a recent gainward golden sample 4200 128mb??? How is it?

Ive got the golden sample with 128Mb from Gainward.. Couldnt be better in my opinion. I replaced the thermal goop that came on it standard with some ASIII and can push the core to 315 stable, stock cooling. The ram can hit up to about 540 before it starts to get jumpy. My case has preatty good airflow, and i also have a PCI 80mm fan/blower under the card. I might be able to push the card a little bit more, but i havnt bothered. Its real damn nice for the performance and price. (what is it now ~$160 I think.)

i've seen great overclocks with the Albatron card, but i would suggest waiting until the Radeon 9500 Pro comes out. it should be around $180 soon after it's release, and hopefully it will give higher than ti4200 speeds.

At normal settings, some websites have the ATi 9500 in between Ti 4200 and Ti 4400. Others have it in between Ti 4400 and Ti 4600. But with AA and AF turned on, the ATi 9500 blows all of these Ti Cards out of the water. That is, if you turn on all the extra eye candy, ATi 9500 is far ahead of any card in the Ti series.

MSI GeForce 4 Ti4200 128Mb is an excellent card. It was cheap (got mine for $125), and it OC's like a dream. The GPU really OCs well, and the memory does too. Currently I run mine on the safe side >> Originally 250/446 >> Now 275/500 and it is 110% rock stable. Best $125 ive spent in awhile
