if you were buying a video card on february 10 of this year, let me know what you would buy. Budget not too much of a concern, but has to be under 600 total. I have tossed around the idea of going sli and getting one card now, one later(but i'd have to buy new motherboard), getting an AGP card, and basically everything in between. Right now im looking at going with a 6800GT and clocking it to ultra speeds, but im open to any suggestions of what would be the best way to do this. My PC is in my signature, and as you can see, the 9800 pro is the bottleneck of this otherwise speed demon of a system. I dont want to spend the entire 600 on the card if i dont have to, as i can use the rest to get other things of interest (XP-90 cooler, etc). Ive been looking at the MSI 6800GT for 399.00 on Newegg, and having some extra to get some more goodies.

I will be placing the order on Feb. 10th, so im not sure whats coming out between now and then either. I do all my ordering from Newegg, so thats a must for me.

Anyhow, if this was you, let me know what you would purchase. I want the best gaming possible.

Thanks.

dont get the MSI version. I've heard of people having a lot of problems with those.

If i didnt care about the warrenty (obviously you dont) then i'd get a eVGA 6800GT and a NV5 silencer for a total of about $420. All your video card's heat will get vented out the back and your system will be cooler, as will your video card.

Or just get a BFG 6800ultra oc and dont overclock and just have a lifetime warrenty!!!

Asus 6800GT is also a great choice (Dual molex for better stability and single slot optimized cooler), but a bit more expensive. Also Leadtek is great.

other than staying away from MSI the 6800GT is a Great card. Once you have it the rest of the system will be the bottleneck.I.m very happy with mine the thing that i like about the GigaByte is the stock HSF(52 to 64c) is Awsome and good tweak software. However I can not run at Ultra levels with out a voltage boost from 1.3 to 1.4v Just my luck I guess.

Well, my co-worker owns the MSI, and it seems fine to me, but i was considering the Evga with NV5 also. I guess ill keep looking until its time to order. I may even end up getting the evga 6800 ultra for the extra 100, but not sure if its worth it.
