What Video Card should I buy?

If you can see my sig for my Rig specs. I'm looking into getting another Video card since my 6800 GT is out. I know it sucks. What do you recommend? My motherboard is AGP not PCI-e

$600? That's a lot of dough. You can upgrade the board, cpu, ram, and video card to PCI-e, then sell off the current parts. 6800GT is near the top of the AGP spectrum so you won't be going far. I think the only faster cards are some X800 and X850 variants, the 6800 Ultra, and the 7800GS.

Of course, you can always choose to save the dough by spending moderately, say ~$120 on an X800 variant to get similar performance to what you're accustomed to.

In any case, chances are you can recover some of your money by selling the dead video card on ebay. Some people may want to try their hand on fixing the part.

Like Ionizer86 said, you are pretty much top of the line with AGP. If you bought a 7800GS, you'd be wasting a lot of money. You may as well just upgrade your motherboard altogether to a S939 or just go straight for AM2 and get a new processor as well. Considering AMD is going on a rampage soon on prices thanks to Conroe, option two and a 7900GT would be a very good choice, but you need a bit more to replace Ram.

Mobo: $100
7900GT/GTX: #300-ish
CPU: $200 (X2 something)
DDR2 Ram: $100

Well most likely I'd like to replace my current setup and get a new rig around Dec/Jan. I will probably jump ship and get a Intel Core 2 Duo E6700. But my damn Video card ruined these plans. I hate buying the newest when it comes to tech items. So i'll wait a few months for the high demand to go down a bit.
