what video card for dell studio 540

hello guys, right off the bat im new this so bare with me. i have an older dell studio 540 desktop. which has intell 2 quad cpu q8200@2.33ghz 6.gb ram and an ati radeon hd 3650 graphics card. i am wanting to install a better graphics card so my kids can atleast play some of the newer game on it. is this possible with the current chip mb? i would appreciate any advice. i understand i may not be able to play some of the recent games but would like to know if upgrading the video card would even be beneficial or could we play newer games with this processor,power supply ect. oh the monitor is a dells2409w

Geforce 750ti? It doesn't require a PCIE power cable and offers plenty of performance.

still a capable machine
gfx card will help alot
assuming u dont want to replace powersupply as well
something like a gtx 750 or similar that doesnt require power connector
