What video card do you recommend in my case?

I currently own this card:

Using: Q9450, 2 GB/RAM, Windows 7 (32). This card uses a PCI-Express slot.

As you can see, the 8800 GTS 512 MB EVGA (with HDCP support) is almost 5 years old.

And it doesn't support VC-1 using DXVA (there's a workaround here, and it works fine, but I was thinking about buying a new video card anyway).

I need a video card that can replace this one with a good performance to the newest games and HD videos, this HDCP support (I guess they all have now), and an affordable price.

Will the Geforce GT 520 be a good choice?

What do you recommend?

The GT 520 would be less powerful than the 8800 as far as games go, but it would also consume less power and support modern video playback features.

You should be able to find a 460 1GB or a Radeon 6850 for $120 to $140, which would be a significant upgrade. You're going to have to spend at least $90 to get something that's better than an 8800.

6850 or 6870 will get you good performance at 1080p, 6950 2GB will give you great performance.
