What Video card can I put into a Hypersonic AX6?

Currently has a ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 Pro Turbo Graphics 128MB Video RAM. Can this be upgraded to a 9700/9800?

look inside the case. if it has a agp slot the radeon is connected to(it should have 1, i dont think there is a 9600pro pci), then you can upgrade it to a 9700/9800 or any other agp card short of the archiacic agp2x/1x cards(like the rage series and TNT series from 1999/2000)

1 easy way to tell if a slot is agp is to check it's color. Pci slots are usually white and agp are usually brown.

Usually, you can't upgrade a laptops video card unless it is a modular system. Because of the constricted size of laptops, video tends to be integrated, so I would doubt that you can. You probably wouldn't see too much improvement going to an MR9700 anyway because it's just a slightly higher clocked MR9600PT.

EDIT: Missed the link...with that laptop, as with most, you cannot upgrade from the MR9600PT.

oh then i believe you are stuck with what you've got. Nvidia 6600/6800 series has a Portabale PCI-E exchangeable graphics system as well as ATi but neither company has showed too much support and the 9600pro dosent even fit under the mobile pci-e system spec. no swap for you. besides, laptops are not really fro gaming.

Know the feeling Cook1...I got the laptop (my first) in my sig last year for my first year of college.

That's why I got mine. Course I traded my gaming rig to get it. But I figure in 3 months I can build a S754 A64 AGP system for cheap that will be able to scream in games.

I put this system together in December, so that sounds about right...you can probably get a good 939 system around X-mas for cheap.

EDIT: P.S. Where are you headed?
