Hey gang, do any of you know what I really need to install from VIA for my system with Windows XP (will the 4-1 suffice). I'm building a system using a ASUS A7V266-E with the KT266A chipset. Thanks a bunch.
You don't NEED to install any chipset driovers. The Via4in1 4.33's are natively used by WinXP be default. I'd recommend updating to the 4.35's though, but it's not necessary.
I think the only thing updated for XP is the .inf file anway. Use the 4.35's. Wouldn't use the ones mentioned on Anand yesterday. If you head over to Viahardware, some people seems to be having problems with the beta XP files.
😉Thanks a bunch guy's. I went over to viatech.com and downloaded the 4.35 driver set. From what I read it will only install what the system demands. Thanks for your input.
Now to see how this new system works with the new ASUS A7V266-E.
