how do I tell what version of Windows XP I am running from within windows????


System:
Microsoft Windows XP
Professional
2002

is it that last number there under My computer-Properties that states my version????

if that makes any sense

i think that windows XP is different, because it just says 2002, there is no version number or anything

If you are l33t, you would use WINKEY+R instead of start > run...just trying to bring the creatins to my level of l33t...nef

Isnt the final 2600? So shouldnt that be what most people have? When you bought it from the store you should have KNOWN that was the version.

2600 is the final version. If you open up a command prompt window and type "ver" it should say 5.1.2600, or something with the 2600 as the last entry. As for being elite, oh well, I guess just being considered a "advanced" user is good enough for me :)

wait...i'm an american, and damn proud of it...i guess then that was just an expression
Also, not everyone has to be l33t as me, for then i won't be very l33t, because the common man will know how to use WINKEY shortcuts...so forget the whole winkey thing...it's just another pretty button, mkay?

One that shouldnt be on keyboards in general. You winders people can use ctrl-esc to get the start menu up. Afterwards, we can work on putting ctrl in the correct spot and getting rid of the caps lock...
