I believe I made a poll around the beginning of the year asking this. But as the year's winding down and with the release of Windows 8, I thought I'd ask again.

I'm still running Windows 7 on all of my machines but they'll be upgrading to Windows 8 soon. I seem to be one of the only people on earth that actually doesn't mind it. I may or may not still keep a Windows 7 machine around. If only because I still need to support it. We just rolled out Windows 7 earlier this year/late last year.

The poll does not allow me to tell the truth. I am running three computers: 1 XP Pro; 1 Win7; and 1 Win8. I guess the correct answer is "All of the above."

I'm not really. I have Debian/Vista as a dual boot, but I haven't been in Vista in 3 years. I also have a broken XP install I haven't used since 2006, and Win8 consumer preview in a VM.
 
I retired my Windows 7 PC when i replaced it with Ubuntu and i kept Windows XP for my old games which i play offline.
 
My laptop and main rig is on 8, son's pc is still on 7. I don't mind 8 too much. Feels snappier and I like the look of 8 on the laptop.

gmaster456, might it be better if you created a new thread with a multiple-choice poll, and we closed this one?
 
Wow, I'm surprised by the amount of Win8 users and (so far) complete lack of Vista users. Win7 here. I'm in the same boat as other people as I have a Win2k3 server, Win7 home PC, WinXP laptop, and my wife's PC runs Vista, but I assumed the poll meant my main computer, and a Win8 VM.

I would have guessed that XP and Win8 would have a similar share, then Vista, then Win7 being the most popular.
 
Running 8 on my desktop and Windows 7 on the laptop.

The only thing stopping me putting windows 8 on my laptop is that there isn't a driver for my fingerprint reader yet.

I was thinking the same thing about Windows 8, after all of the negative comments here and in the press i was expecting Windows 7 to be a long way ahead then i noticed that the poll was only created today. lol 😉

Maybe all/most of the Win8-naysayers are still running it anyway, sucking on the teat of "newness" 🙂
 
Windows 7 on laptop and desktop.

Desktop has Windows XP, Windows 8 and OS X Mountain Lion VMs.

Vista never existed. 😉
