What use is a private topics forum?

I imagine you will in time. Off the top of my head, you could use it for:

- Keeping details of a trade without using your PM's.
- Having a discussion between a select group of individuals.
- Stalker's convention

It lets you choose who will be able to view the thread, and all but eliminates the chances of a post getting out of hand. Fewer, if any, trolls, whiners, etc. Also, given that it would be impossible to moderate these private topics, I imagine the guidelines on what exactly you could post would be a bit relaxed as well.

Hmm, might it become a subscriber-only feature?

I haven't seen/used this forum, but can you just restrict certain people instead of goign through the hastle of just adding a bunch of people?

I doubt you can stop them coming in. You're still under the existing rules of the forums, banned words list, et cetera.

I suppose the moderators have left a backdoor for themselves so they can still access private topics.

Anybody wanna see for sure? ;)

I'm sure they can have FT dump the entire message board into a text file and do searches. VB does this. :)

I wonder how many people talk to themselves!!! :D
