here's the only pic i have

this is my car...here are the specs:

'88 MR2
168,000 miles
Body is in great condition, interior is in fair condition, mainly the shift boot is really bad, but i ordered a new custom made one...
I also ordered a new Aiwa stereo and speakers....
T-tops, as you can see
Manual windows, etc, etc...
Non-Power Steering (more fun)
Nice wheels (Koenig? sp?) (i also got the old wheels with it, i'm going to mount cheap studded tires on it for the alaska winters)

But here is the good part: NEW engine (<500 miles on it), new brakes, new clutch, pretty much everything mechanical is brand new and is warranted...bought it from a little japanese auto repair place, and not a dealership...driving it is a blast, too..:p
Also, if i need any other parts on it that aren't covered under the warranty I get them at cost...

Not bad...dated a girl with one in high school. Trust me...don't try to have sex in it unless you know a good chiropractor.

k i'll take your word for it! but..what if it's ora..nevermind...:p

and no it doesn't have a turbo...none of the MK1 MR2's did..some were supercharged though...what it does have is a new Japanese-Spec engine with about 120-130hp instead of 112 that the US engines got. (probably around 120, depends on how much of the rest of the stuff is from japan or was re-used from the us engine)...
but considering it ways 2195 pounds...:p Still not that fast, but the handling and the road feel, oh my!

I've always like MR2's. Too big for the older ones. I LOVE the new ones too. Nice car.

One of the marketing women at the company I work for had a brand new 2000 MR2. Beautiful car....until the guy in the Expedition slammed into her. I've seen pictures of what her car looked like after the wreck and I'm amazed she is alive.

I think I would have kept that SHO that you had instead of that go-cart.

yeah, i duno..this is _A LOT_ more fun, and i don't need practicality in juneau, alaska....not going to be taking any long trips cuzz there's no road out of town either...this has a lot better mileage, is a lot more fun to drive, and cost around $1000 less...plus it's got a brand new engine and i was having problems with the sho, gotta love ford quality..

mztykal:

That is a MK I MR2. They don't come with factory turbos. They came with factory Superchargers in certain models.

I would get an MR2 but I'm really just too big. It should be more fun than a SHO, they tend to rip up transmissions left and right.

Just keep it outta the way of trucks and other large (stupid) vehicles. :)

yeah, i'll do my best...lol..fortunately this is juneau alaska, and everyone..i mean EVERYONE...drives a little subaru...although there are quite a few suv's and truck's...every other car is either a subaru legacy station wagon or a mitsubishi eclipse....only 2 other MR2's in town, and mine's the best 'lookin...:p

Fun car, huh? My roomate's uncle used to race MR2's. I'm hoping to pick up a Spyder this summer if I can find one. Screw practicality! :p

If they're the 2.5RS models, don't knock em, they're nice cars!! Otherwise all other suburus are hell bound ;)

Werk
With a few bolt-ons, the MKII MR2 Turbos can compete with Corvettes... the new MKIII's take a helluva lot of work to get that fast. And much more $$$...
