just wondering because i've heard the 8000 series make the amd x2s the bottleneck, i just wanted to know what other video cards make cpus the bottleneck in systems.

It really doesn't make it bottleneck if the eye candy is turned up enough.

I don't think my Opty is bottlenecking my 8800GTS (and my opty is currently running at 2.5ghz instead of the 2.75 in my sig).

It depends on the CPU, the game and the settings you play the game at.

Why worry? If you can finally max everything out in a game and the graphics card still isn't the bottleneck, then you should be happy with that you've got a really fast graphics card, not worrying that your CPU (or something else) is a bottleneck.

The old fx5700 or 9800pro would make the CPU the bottleneck. Forcing you to run a low resolution where the performance of the CPU would have a much greater impact on overall performance.
