Power Supply

It is linked above. What would be the *maximum* GPU setup I could run with this unit ?

+3.3V@30A
+5V@30A
+12V1@20A
+12V2@20A
+12V3@20A
+12V4@20A
-12V@1A
+5VSB@3.0A

Connectors

1 x Main connector (20+4 pin)
1 x 12V(4pin/ 8pin)
6 x peripheral
6 x SATA
2 x Floppy
2 X 6-pin PCI-E
2 X 6+2-pin PCI-E

I received my RMA back today. I sent them a OCZ 450 watt with 26 amp on the +12 and this is the one I received.

Well it is better than what you had for sure. It is mediocre...to above mediocre. FSP Epsilon based and may exhibit out of spec ripple at loads above 400W or so.

It's a little disappointing that it's an 850W PSU that only has 2 PCI-e connectors. On the other hand, if what HOOfan 1 says is true, you probably aren't going to want to run it with more than one card anyway. Has about 54A combined on the 12V rail if I read the label correctly though.

Two HD4850's is as much as you can get away with, because it doesn't have more PCI-e connectors ;)

Acutally, the psu has:

2 X 6-pin PCI-E
2 X 6+2-pin PCI-E

I just found this

**Effective August 15th, 2008 the GameXstream family of PSU's are shipping with 1 x 6pin and 1 x 6+2 (8pin) PCI-E connectors. The 850W model now has 2 x 6pin and 2 x 6+2 (8pin) PCI-E connectors. If your GXS power supply has a PCI-e connector harness (without the 8pin connector) and you would like to power a GPU that requires the 8pin, please contact our customer support.

I wonder if you could possibly convince OCZ to sent you an EliteXstream 800W instead of the GameXstream 850W...the EliteXstream is a much better PSU. Either that or I would sell the GameXstream and use the money towards buying something better.
