Hello,

What is the type to Pencil to use for the L1 bridges? Was it H, 2H .. 5H or HB...5HB? I saw some info on that on a website but lost the link.

You should really consider using something better than pencil. Get better durability with things that are designed to conduct (like a defogger kit).

What is a defrogger kit?

I heard it was HB and I've also seen somewhere that someone advised 2B.

Is a conductive pen good enough.

That's what I used and it worked well. My first attempts with the pencil trick failed, then I actually tested the continuity (resistance) of a 1/4" dark, repeated line of pencil lead on paper compared to the same distance with auto defroster grid paint (available at parts stores or a GM dealer in my case for about $15). Pencil lead has very poor continuity and I'm surprized it'd work well for anyone. Another idea is to get some cheap $3 magnifying glasses (Walgreens for reading), I used a 3Xs so you actually see what you're doing, then scratch off any extra paint that might flow between the bridges.

Use the brightest (HB or similar). Can't remember what I used except is is the regular pencil leads that you buy in office supplies stores like Staples.

I used a #2 pencil, worked first time, has been running steady for about 4 months.

i say no on the pencil trick. mine is dying right now after a couple weeks, so im off to get a defogger kit. it probably means I didn't do the bridges well enough with what I have but it definately went from fine, to screwed up not booting, etc.

Damac. I'd be curious to know if re-doing the bridge connections remedies your problems. Please keep us posted.

I did the pencil trick to unlock the voltage settings and have had no problems.

Hydrobum,

A pencil, condusive pen or a defogger kit can be used to connect the L1 bridges on a duron to aid in overclocking.
