Probably counting money, typing, stuff like that. I imagine there's minimal contact with customers.

More than likely it will be processing of some sort.
Paperwork for loans, account maintenance, record keeping, accounting, you name it.
Whatever may not involve contact with a customer, the term is rather broad, you may want more information regarding the definition from the employer as it can mean different activities to different folks, regardless all will deal with paperwork.

Yep, mostly paper pushing, filing, and phones. No face to face customer contact.

Often back office refers to some accounting, personnel, and auditing duties as well.
