What type of switch do I need? SPST, SPDT or...? (fixing my alarm clock)

I am trying to fix my alarm clock - the alarm on/off switch went. It is a two-position (ON/OFF) sliding type switch. It slides over three solder "spots" on a circuit board. The switch has a flat bottom. Most likely it had some metal plate attached on the botom that covered two of the three solder spots at a time (depending on whether the alarm was on or off).

So, my question is: Do I need an SPST, SPDT or some other type of switch. My guess is I need an SPDT switch, but I just wanted to confirm as I am not too strong in electronic parts.

Thanks for any advice.

It sounds as if you have a simple SPDT switch. One of those spots is the "input" the others are "output". One to the alarm, one back into the clock (I'm guessing).

Thanks for the suggestions. I guess I am off to Radio Shack for an SPDT switch.

A new alarm clock might sound like a better solution, but I guess I just want to experience the process of getting the old one fixed. Plus, I also its large red display and the buzzer is not too annoying.
