I need a PSU under $80 that has active cooling a good wattage. I'm planning on powering an Athlon 64 3000+ system with it. Please post your reccommendations here.

well, post the rest of your system. unless that's it in your sig, a 450w from xclio or fortron would do just dandy.

I'm also thinking of OCing my Athlon 64 to 2.4 GHz and getting a 7800 GT sometime in the future, is the Forton enough for that or do I need something better?

I've thought about all your opinions and I now know that a 450W PSU would be able to support my future upgrades. So I've been looking for a PSU in that area that I like but also with a good price and I came across this one.

OCZ Modstream 450W

Anyone here use it? If so, tell me how it is.

read the reviews on the modstream seems there is sumthing wrong with the modular cables same thing with neopower not to mention the ultra x connect :). I recommend not getting an antec smartpower like the above poster said before the truepowers are much better. I myself would go with an Antec TRUEPOWERII.

PCP&C has their Silencer 470 for $89.10 + shipping. Excellent PSU. I've had it for 6 months now and it does a great job. Super company with excellent customer service. And a 3 year warranty.

Those PSU's are pretty expensive. The Fortron I linked to should be more than enough for your needs, and it's only $50. Fortron is a better manufacturer than all of those.

A better manufacturer than PCP&C? Please... you need to read up some more on PSUs.
