what type of people can you use as references on a job resume?

the person who interviewed me for this internship just called and asked me to email her some references... and i only had 2, the manager of my first job, and then i was gonna use the supervisor at this senior center i had volunteered at but he just retired and they werent allowed to give out his home phone number.. so now basically i only have 1 reference... who else would i be able to use as a reference?

If you really have no way of getting ahold of the other guy you could use a co-worker. . I'd be very surprised if you're denied a job because you can find only two references and they both speak well of you, so your original reference plus a co-worker or two should be great.

doh i don't know any of my co-workers contact info... i decided to use one of my high school teachers, would that be okay?

I have always had a businees and non business related references

Its a good idea to let your references know yoru putign them down as references..otherwise it might get embarrasign if they are called up and asked about you and they have no idea who you are.
