i just got my leadtek pro 32meg today and i think it may have 5.0ns memory. is this possible? everywhere ive heard is that it is 5.5ns memory. anyways here are the readings on the memory "ASCEND AD432M3224VLA-5". well the "5" leads me to believe it may be 5ns memory. anyone else have this memory in yours? what can you overclock it to? thoughts anyone?

Well, the real Pro cards are supposed to have 5ns memory because 5ns = 400mhz DDR, which is the Pro's intended speed. Those who use 5.5ns either run the memory at 366mhz or they overclock it. So there's nothing really special about your card, sorry.;)

actually dumbass it would be special i havent heard of anyone that has the newer leadtek with 5ns memory and if it is 5ns memory i will be able to overclock higher than those with 5.5ns. so they have to overclock 33mhz to get 400 and thats where im starting. so if it is 5ns i think that would be pretty damn interesting.

actually DUMBASS...(airbud)

there is nothing special about your card..ALL PRO CARDS are supposed to run at 5 ns.. so you are just runnning a normal card..

if you knew what you were talking about you would relize that your card is just normal andthe same speed of all other PRO's.. and you aren't even sure if you have 5ns.. overclock and see.. then start callin names!

ok buttboy the point is all new leadtek have been shipping with 5.5ns memory, therefore i was expecting 5.5ns. if its 5ns wonderful, thats what it should be but for the price i payed im not gonna complain with 5.5. im looking for feedback with others that got this type of memory not people to shoot me down because its suppose to have 5ns, noshit!

haha, i know that leadtek ships with 5.5 but you don't gotta call people names becasue YOUR CARD "really isn't special, it may-b special by leadteks company.. but overall.. not at all because all other pros run at 5.0

What the fsck is your problem??? Sorry if I offended your new jack-off toy, but I just pointed out that 5ns ram is rated for 200mhz (400 DDR), so it's the minimum that should be on a real Pro card.

To answer your question, because I'm a nice guy, yes it's 5ns ram, and running it at 400mhz isn't considered overclocking. And BTW, if you have a hard time seeing the smilies in posts, I doubt that vid card will be very useful for you.

i wasnt looking for a sarcastic "sorry" w/ a wink. if you were being friendly im sorry but thats not the impression i was getting....on another note you get what you pay for. i payed for 5.5ns and if i got 5ns im going to be pleased.

<< maybe this is a stupid question, but how do you tell how fast the ram is? >>

It's very easy. First you have to find it's speed rating on the chip, which is usually the last number. In airbud's case, it's 5 nanoseconds, or 0.000000005 seconds. To get the frequency in Hz, you simply divide 1 by that number, so here it would be 1/0.000000005= 200,000,000 Hz or 200 Mhz. Since it's DDR, double it and you get your 400Mhz.

hehe, I'm in a bad mood, but if you like it...

And I hope your card doesn't go past 401mhz! ;);););););););););););););););)

Seriously, it should do at least 450, probably more. The 6ns ram on my GTS does 400...

well im really anxious so im looking for someone that actually has this board with this type of memory. (dont have my mobo yet so i cant install it). so i wanted to find out if it really is 5ns. and like you said most if not all video memory ends with the "X"ns that it is and mine says 5 so......we shall see
