Not true. I did personally encounter "the note". Feb 2002, rainy night about 8pm, Winco Foods parking lot near the Petsmart, Tigard, OR, newer light blue Ford Windstar with Pennsylvania plates side-swiped a late-80s red Honda CRX (gen 1), causing considerable damage down the passenger side. The middle-aged fat lady driving the minivan tried to get away but I stopped her and forced her to write a note and took down her license plate #. I then went into the store, shopped for about half an hour or so, and when I came out one of the Winco cashiers was getting into the CRX and hadn't yet seen the damage on the passenger side. I told her what happened, pointed out the damage and the note, which said (paraphrased) "Sorry about your car but I don't have any insurance so I can't pay for the damage." I gave the cashier/CRX owner the license plate number of the minivan along with a description of the driver and wished her luck.

I find your story quite unbelieveable as well. Why would you keep the note for half an hour, not knowing whether the damaged car would be there when you returned? Why not just leave it under a wiper after the Windstar left?

Either I (in my typing haste) mis-wrote or you mis-read. The note was placed under the windshield wiper of the CRX. I did not kept the note (IIRC, I never touched it). It was pure chance that I just happened to be returning to my car when the cashier was. I pointed out the note under his windshield to her as she had not yet noticed it, having (in her own words) just come off a long shift.

I've actually been inside one of the places that makes taco bell and pizza hut's meat (and maybe others too), the ground or chopped pre-cooked stuff.. they grind it and cook/season it and flash-freeze it.. it was kinda interesting (and wasn't in production yet, so not disgusting :) ). so.. I know this. it's a "beef product". :)

Not sure what it is but I do remember that a year or so ago, some beef was recalled due to an e coli scare. The plant that recalled the beef wanted to collect it and render it (E.G. cook it & ??? - see google form some more scarry stuff on rendering).

They (the company) said that the rendered meat would be safe for tacos and such because they thoroughly cooked it. Fortunately their request was denied.

I do think that Taco Bell meat is rendered from something, however....:Q

Tippy's Tacos in Fairfax, VA has "Meat Tacos" on the menu, and if you order beef, they'll correct you and say "You mean Meat?", which leads me to believe that whatever meat is in there is not of a bovine origin.

I live off that place and every other fast food place and I'm lean as they come. No body fat. Doesn't matter much unless you sit on the couch all day every day.

That is why it is #1 in my opinion. Why eat it if it's going to taste like boiled cardboard.

Who really cares? I  taco bell because it's cheap and tastey. If tomorow they came out and said that they were helping control the pet population, I'd applaud them, then take a huge bite of a grande soft taco.

Body fat is not a measurement of health
