What type of fan is on the asus a7m266 mobo?

Need to replace it....what type of fan is it? Or at least what size? It doesnt say in the manual? If i take pic of it can u tell me wut size u think it is?

You mean the chipset fan? Mine went bad too. I just removed it (the fan, left the little heat sink piece on it). The chipset really doesn't need a fan.

But if you want, I think it said right on the fan that it was a CPU fan, maybe from an old pentium type HSF.
(You can probably measure it to figure out what size it is

hmmmm any1 else think that it doesnt need a fan? why would they spend the xtra money to manufacture fans for all of that models mobos then if they dont need it lol

FWIW, I removed the fan off my a7m266 NB over a year ago and it hasn't made any difference.

It's a 40x40x10mm fan.

I forgot what kind of connector it is though.

Took mine out about 4 months ago (because it started making horrible noises) and it's fine. I don't overclock it though (my 29160 doesn't like it).

With the pc on and up to full temp I touched the heatsink/thing and it's barely warm.

Anyway this will probably do the trick. You might have to cut/splice the connector on if it's not the std 3-pin.
