it really depends on what you like to watch.

I personally like Widescreen. It took me awhile to get used to it though.

Some people (like my parents) hate widescreen. They don't care that the movie is cut, they just don't want the black bars on their TV.

Widescreen. Always widescreen.

ok, but why?

In case you get a 16:9 TV.

No, because that's how the movie was filmed. If it was filmed on a wide film, why watch it chopped down, just so it conforms to your square TV screen? I don't have a 16:9 TV, nor do I plan to soon. But I HATE pan & scan, and any film fan will tell you the same. Directors frame their shots the way they're supposed to be seen. Why let some fullscreen editor decide how the scene is framed? And then how it pans back and forth between two actors having a discussion, who would normally both fit on the widescreen? Disgrace! :)
