What type of car does Bruce drive in the beginning of Bruce Almighty

I just saw the movie and began wondering what type of car that was he was driving. The first one, not his GOD mobile.

Datsun 280Z or something similar.

The "God mobile" was a Saleen S7.

It was a Datsun 280Z.

Forgive my stupidity, but what exactly is datsun, it appears they make the same cars as Nissan, are they owned by nissan, or something?

Datsun was just the old name for Nissan, they've since changed their name.

Kindof like Diamond Multimedia changed their name to SonicBlue? (I seriously think changing their name had a lot to do with their demise) ... Diamond Rio, kindof catchy, SonicBlue Rio? ... Nah!

Datsun changed their name to Nissan ten years ago or so. I think I read somewhere that the company name was originaly Nissan....
