what type of cable is this?

no pics cause I'm at work, but one end looks like an ethernet plug (though with only 4 wires) and the other end is a female monitor end.

any idea what type of cable this is and what it's used for? I just wanted into work and found it laying on my desk 😕

that is the cisco cable

if it is black, it could be a UPS cable, again a specialized serial cable
