I'm looking into getting one myself but I see tons of reviews on newegg about how bad they are. I tend to chalk them up to inexperience but you never know. So what are you guys using? Any issues?

Hauppauge WinTV 1800. With XP Pro I could not get any drivers to work properly and the TV functionality was crap. When I upgraded to Vista last summer, the card work marvelously with no problems. The only two downsides to the card is if you change locations frequently (every 5+ weeks like a college student such as me) and changing the TV guide location, but other than that Hauppauge makes some good cards. The second is recording a second channel (which doesn't exist for this card) so you'll have to get a dual-tuner card (one with two coaxial connections).

Other than that, it'll be a hardware issue (i.e. DOA) or an unsupported driver.

I'm using the 2250 in Vista Ultimate x64 as well. Digital OTA comes in great, HD and 5.1 Surround included. The integration with Media Center is also very impressive. Dual channels, programming guide, everything you need works great. The included remote is a bonus as well.

What college are you in that you have to move every 5 weeks?!? I'm a student as well and can't remember moving more than once a year.

I'm not bashing, I'm just curious. I'd hate having to re-do my compy desk setup every month...
