what tv recording software do you use?

I have a Hauppauge WinTV Go FM card and need some really good software to record shows at certain times. The software that comes with it doesn't have a timer (although there is some software for download at their site, it is not yet available for XP), and it records the AVI high quality version at 8 mb/sec. I found Showshifter which seemed great but has messed up (completely didn't do 2 recordings for no apparent reason and then kept stopping in another one, and that is only out of 7 recordings).

Anyways, what do you use? I seriously need a good one -- I can't miss Survivor again 🙂 BTW, I am fine with a 60 minute show taking up around 10 gigs because I have the space and delete it after I watch it, I just want a recording that looks good full screen and will work 100% of the time!

I use ATI's MMC 7.1 with my TV wonder and it works surprisingly well. Though, I don't suppose this will help you with your Huappage card.

I suggest then Intervideo's WinDVR or maybe Showshifter.

Thanks!! Thats exactly what I need, I am installing WinDVR now (just about to reboot) but I'll check out those other 2 also!

Hmm.. has anyone got WinDVR to work with WinXP? Because it isn't working for me, and XP isn't listed on the site.

On to the next one I guess 🙂
