Putting KaZaA aside here, what are your top 10 favorite albums that you OWN, if you own at least 10 albums to your name? I'm looking for some bands that would be worth purchasing their entire album, rather than leeching a few of their low quality songs off KaZaA. I prefer to pay for the artists I truly appreciate and enjoy. So I want some ideas here.

some great bands are : Blindside, Goldfinger, Green Day, Lit, Metallica (of course), Nirvana, Nonpoint, Project 86, RHCP, Stone Sour, Sum 41 (ehh, gone a little pop, but they have some good ones like pain for pleasure and THT), and of course The Offspring.

Your input? Please do not comment if you don't own any actual albums and don't listen to them all the way through/are well informed about them. Thanks.

Well, I don't have the CDs anymore (they got too scratched up), but I like Core and Purple by STP. Are you Experienced by the Jimi Hendrix Experience is a great album.

So is Who's Next.

If you mean top 10 today, then none.

When it comes to full albums, I tend to like the more mellow stuff. Jack Johnson and John Mayers' CD's are great all of the way through. On the flip side of that though, I have to admit that I've been very tempted to buy the Stone Sour CD.

I made an off the wall purchase the other day and bought the 2 CD set of XTC "Fossil Fuel". I thought I'd only like disc 2 (the newest songs) because those are the songs I had always heard before (Dear God, Mayor of Simpleton, etc), but I have disc 1 in the car and have listened to it three times in a row now coming to realize that XTC's earliest "Police-like" songs are much better! :D

Well, I have a very varied taste in music so thats pretty hard for me to say, but I'll give it a shot.

in no particular order, if I were stranded on a desert island with a generator, and endless supply of fuel, and no other electronic devices besides a cd player:

Sneaker Pimps - Becoming X
Dieselboy - System Upgrade
Nirvana - Unplugged
Beastie Boys - Paul's Boutique
Weezer - Weezer (the blue one)
Nine Inch Nails - Further Down the Spiral
A Tribe Called Quest - Midnight Marauders
Deftones - Around the Fur
Sublime - Robbin' The Hood
Devin - The Dude

Although that would really suck. If I could take the top 10 from every genre I listen to I would probbably be a happy camper for a long time.

Yeah, Becoming X is one of those albums that got a short burst of recognition then kinda faded away, which is kind of nice in a way. It didn't get enough airplay for people to get sick of it, which unfortunately seems to be the difference between a commercial success and an artistic one.

Robbin the hood is a really eclectic album that people either seem to love or hate. It was really experimental, sounds like it was mixed by someone who had one too many to drink, and has a flow that I honestly think can only be appreciated by someone who has at least TRIED some kind of psychedelic drugs :D

Kelli Ali (the ex-lead singer of Sneaker Pimps) recently released a new album, called Tigermouth. Its a solid album. I think the remixes that are bound to happen will get more recognition than the album though.

If you haven't heard moe. then you should probably check them out.

They have a couple live albums that are two or three CDs and only cost $15-$20. Their studio albums are also worth the money, as well.

moe. rocks.

If you want something from Kazaa to sample, most people find Rebubula to be a great song. Many of my friends that hate jambands find moe. to awesome.

Other great albums:

Big Head Todd - Midnight Radio
Black Crowes - Amorica
Radiohead - Kid A, OK Computer
Galactic - We Love'em Tonight
Les Claypool's Frog Brigade - Set 1
