What toothbrush do you use?

If you don't have teeth worth $40, let them rot.

Sonicare works great, but not only is it expensive to buy, the heads aren't cheap and need to be replaced every few months.

OTOH some find it too aggressive even when used in the I'm a wuss mode, so maybe get a cheap non rechargeable travel unit or trial unit if they still have them.

Not sure if he still does it, but there used to be a guy on ebay that replaced batteries in the older units for around $20.

Batteries are easy to locate, hard part is knowing how to split the case without damage.

Half the time on the old ones the charger base is what would go bad.

Weird, some battery powered stuff seems to last forever, so not even a year.
 
Just gonna let you know that most of the science says there are negligible (read: none) benefits to using an electric toothbrush over a manual one.

Any small sized toothbrush works for me, but there was one that I really liked. It seemed only my dentist could get a hold of the small size for that particular model (Literally not available online or in stores). Now I don't have that dentist. My toothbrush experience has deteriorated quite significantly.

I've never found an electric toothbrush with bristles stiff enough to withstand the abuse I give my toothbrush. I'm a serious scrubber...and even medium to firm bristles don't last a month before they're all bent over and I need a new brush.

I had a Cybersonic electric about 15 years ago...worked fairly well...but the bristles were too soft...but the flosser attachment was fucking great. Worked much better/easier than the manual flossers I'd found in drug stores. The tongue cleaner was a bit...weird. I'd rather just scrub my tongue with my toothbrush.

Yep, it's this one. This thing is fucking magic and I cannot find it in a small size anywhere.

It costs $8 and comes with 3 brush heads and a bunch of other useless accessories. It works well and the brush heads last a very long time. It runs on regular AA's, though I'd recommend getting a set of rechargeable batteries. My only complaint is that it requires a lot of rinsing if you don't want muck building up inside it.

I've been using the Sonicare for more than a decade (14 yrs). When the dentist recommended it I gave it a try and at the time they were ~$125. I used that thing with the replacement heads for a decade before buying a new one at Costco. About three years ago I got the wife to use one, too.

In the fifteen years I have been going to this dentist office they only twice thought enough of my dental health to ask about flossing. You would be surprised how effective a 2-minute cycle with this thing works for you.
 
Some Oral-B brush that my Wife's dentist gives out.

Had a Sonicare, thought it was awesome. Then the battery died and went back to manual. Couldn't believe how much cleaner my teeth felt.
 
Sonicare all the way. My late wife turned me on to them years and years ago, and I've never looked back.

i had that coupon too when i bought mine, and i had no clue how i got the coupon. i couldn't get it a 2nd time though when i bought my wifes separate, but i found an "open box" one for $10 less anyways. i asked to make sure that "open box" didn't mean used. when we got it, it meant that there was like a tiny tiny crease in the box lol. it was brand new still sealed with just a little dent in the box.

when i got it though, which was a couple weeks ago, it was $50. so the coupon knocked it down to $40.

I think you are brushing too hard if this is the case. Surprised your dentist hasn't chided you for it yet...

The Sonicare e-series (the ones with the big plastic ring on the bottom of the brush heads) get NASTY after a few weeks if you don't clean out the head assembly every few days. Kind of a pain.
 
used it for a couple days now, feels weird & different. Doesn't seem like its doing much, especially compared to the manual brush. My teeth do feel clean though.
