What to write in a condolences card?

ndee

Lifer
I was just told that my best friend from 1st-6th grade past away(I'm 21 now). He moved to another city and we've lost contact. But I do know that he turned into a Nazi, that was also one of the reasons why I didn't have contact with him the last few years. I don't know if he was still a Nazi today. But anyways, I feel like writing them a card but what shall I write exactly? It didn't touch me too much anymore(never heard of him the last 8 years, only saw him sometimes but never talked to him) but I still feel like writing them.

Any tips are appreciated.

Like Nazi Nazi. But that doesn't matter, his family was always sweet to me. I'm only half-Swiss but I doubt he would have touched me.

Send the family a card that says "My condolences for your loss." Who cares if the person was a Nazi or not? It's his life to live. Or at least it was. 🙁

Judge not, lest ye be judged.

Yeah. Just write something neutral like that.

True, I was also with him on vacation back in the days and his family is really nice, so I think that's the LEAST thing I can do. Only 20, dayum.

After I think about it a little bit, it really makes me think.
